On March 1, Amie Hardin, Director, Diabetes and Clinical Nutrition, EAMC, spoke to the Auburn Lions Club about her work with diabetics. Diabetes is a major cause of vision loss and an important object of Lions campaign against blindness. She said that about 50% of the population is subject to diabetes either by heredity or diet Thanks to financial support from the public, they have been able to treat all patients, regardless of need and insurance. In addition to medical treatment, they work with patients’ nutrition and lifestyle to ease their symptoms. The Auburn Lions Club is happy to support the work of the Diabetes and Clinical and Nutrition Center and Club Vice-President Keith Ryland presented Ms. Hardin with a donation of $1000.00 in support.
