On November 1, Dr. Calvin Johnson (right), Dean of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, spoke to the Auburn Lions Club about the College. It is 110 years old and graduates about 120 students each year. Approximately 1/3 of the graduates are from Alabama, 1/3 from Kentucky, and the rest from elsewhere. About 80% are women. The program is concerned with the nature of animals and animal diseases and treatment. Of particular interest are those diseases shared with humans or similar to human diseases.
